Oh wow, that's useful information! I didn't know about that "Subset" option!
Do you know *why* some fonts are subset by default and some aren't? For instance, for the font Chivo (by Omnibus Type, available from Google Fonts), the OTF versions have the Subset box ticked, the TTF versions don't.
