Hello everyone

I'm here to announce the a new french weekly newspaper now uses Scribus :)
unfortunately they have no website but it is called L'Axonais.

1. In january the proprietary of Oisehebdo (another weekly) phoned me to know
about scribus
2. I gave him some names like Le Tigre, Flossmanuals that are publishers
already using Scribus, and presented myself as a graphic designer and trainer
working only with it for years, as a proof
3. later in january, we had a first meeting to show them how scribus was
working and see if the employee could enjoy it
4. In April he phone me again, saying he was seriously on the way for a new
weekly and ask for me to come several day and help them build it
5. That's what i did and everybody seems OK with Scribus and Gimp, in this new
team.
6. We add then some exchange with the printshop (they forgot to check some
boxes in the PDF export, like the small "Printer" one :) we should really put
it more clear may be an intent on the first tab)
7. The 21th of May was the day they were launching the first issue, i made some
preset and modify preference so they won't forget any options, i made some
little python script that can help them in their workflow.
8. The newspaper in now out with a first step of 8000 copies (they want 12000
at the end). Everybody is happy with scribus result and workflow (even if some
issue can angry them sometimes like loosing paragraph formatting when deleting
a whole paragraph to replace the content, or not having a real spell checker, i
mean one like pro-lexis or antidote working with and that the built-in search
tool only works frame-based [little changes could make things much confortable
to some users]).

Anyway, at this time, this is the hugest project i've been working on and may
be the hugest done in Scribus. At least another Proof it's possible.

I would like one more time to thank all the team and the people involved
including Louis who help me the last days to understand some of the printshop
comments.

This is another sign that, since the effort we're putting in promoting scribus
for years in France, there has been more and more people using it (mainly in
small companies and administrations) and that we're now entering a new world,
the one scribus has been made for : publishers, publishers that are not
specially in love with free softwares.

It's hard for me to document all this but i guess it's necessary, and i'll
doing asap. Until that, i'll be please to answer questions.

cheers
cedric (pygmee)
