hey somebody, buys an apple computer -- a brand known for not supporting machines and software for a long time -- and complains that open source software can't make wonders.
well, open source can somehow make wonders: you're free to install any low resources linux on your mac and get the newest and shiny scribus working on it. faster and ever. also, the fact that scribus is open sources allows you to team up with other people and produce *and distribute*(!) a .dmg/.pkg that indeed works on your older os x! you will have to put some efforts in it, but it will very likely work! and you would not be the first one doing such a crazy thing! while scribus can be installed in different ways on lot of platform, the team provides only a few of them. portable apps, ubuntu/debian, os 2, bsd, haiku, homebrew, macports and lot of other installation files are (afaik) not directly provided by the scribus team. scribus is a collaborative effort and you can be part of it! koyaanisqatsi a.l.e
