One thing I have often done when I needed more flexibility for tables:
* Create the table with LibreOffice
*
Export to PDF
*
Place the PDF (as link) into an image frame in Scribus
It worked perfectly and smoothly (just be sure to check the option of incorporationg pdf
and eps files when exporting Scribus file to PDF -- or whatever it says in English - my
version is 1.5.7 French)
And if I have any modification in my table later on, just do it in LO, rexport to PDF, and
the Scribus file updates automatically (even if it is opened simultaneously).
This can be done for any kind of block of text which is easier to format with
LO...

How do I "ungroup" the cells of a table and then regroup after tinkering?
Actually, I want to remove the border from the left and bottom side of
the bottom-left cell of a table and the rather limited documentation I
found suggests ungrouping and regrouping.
But, when I select the table, followed by Item -> Grouping -> ..., the
available options are all disabled.
Hi Kevin,
Tables are something that I think has never been very fully developed in Scribus. As of
1.5.8, it seems that any ability to selectively cause individual borders to exist in the
parts of a table has disappeared. Item > Grouping doesn't apply to tables.
