I worked with Pagemaker professionally for many years. Now retired, I
decided to try Scribus as a modern equivalent, installing version 1.4.8
for Windows 10. However, I found it far more complicated and less
intuitive. Eventually I managed to get some content on one page, and
tried to flow text over frame links. Although the frames are showing as
linked, as indicated by a pop-up telling me that they were already
linked when I tried again, text refuses to flow, ending mid-sentence at
the bottom of the first frame. There is a small "x" in a square where
the text stops, but the linked frame remains empty. The Story Editor
shows the complete text. Both frames are on the same layer. I even
unlinked the second frame, and then linked it again.
I suspect I should do something with that small "x" in the corner, but
it cannot be activated with a click, so I'm stumped. What am I missing?
