I still haven't found anything that'd explain why the actors in the
original games behave differently than the OpenQuest character.

I'd like to try dumping the executed scripts with SccummVM, but I can't
get it to work. There are no files generated when I start ScummVM with
the --dump-scripts option, even if I create the mentioned "dumps"
folder. Has anyone used used this before and could possibly tell me how
it works?

Has anyone looked at this yet? Should I commit it?

Another guess of mine is that maybe the actors in the original games
have more than one limb, e.g. head and body. If the head limb was only
present in the talk anim, but not in the walk anim (i.e. if the head
image was drawn as part of the body limb while walking), then maybe the
talk script wouldn't be able to mess it up. Is there a way to extract /
analyze the costumes of the original games?

Cheers,
Gerrit
