> Hello. I have tested the demos (road and openquest) and I really liked ScummC.
Thanks. FYI: I am not the developer of ScummC, but I was involved in the OpenQuest project. > I want to create my own graphic adventure and I think ScummC is > as good option as AGS is You cannot even compare AGS to ScummC. AGS is a mature and actively maintained project, with a huge community and hundreds of games, some even commercial. ScummC on the other hand is still early beta stage, Alban is the only developer, there are no games that use it save for the demos, and the project is dormant right now. > (in my case, I love the graphics adventures in SCUMM style). Yeah, the only advantage of ScummC is that you can create 100% authentic SCUMM games. > I would to know if it is expected that the project could reach > the 1.0 version in the immediate future. No, I haven't heard from Alban for a long time. > Also, I would like to know about other games being developed using ScummC. I don't know of any other games. ScummC isn't usable enough yet. Here's my suggestion: If your main goal is creating an adventure, I'd strongly advise to use AGS. You should try ScummC only if you are a skilled C programmer, and are interested in exploring new languages, compilers and generated bytecode. If you are not a programmer, but you still want to help ScummC and other open source adventure engine projects, then it would be great if you could open source your game. Like with OpenQuest, you could create your game in AGS, but other people could use your graphics and story to re-create the game in ScummC or any other adventure game system. I have searched a lot for open source adventures, but have found only very few.
