Hi,

I just signed up for this newsletter, so I assume a little introduction is in order :-)

My name is Jeroen, 35 years old, and living in Belgium. I think I start playing adventure games when I was 13 or so (Space Quest III was my introduction to the adventure genre), and I played most adventure games made by Sierra and LucasArts.

I was investigating how I could create my own games, and stumbled upon ScummC. I know there are more recent engines (like AGS), but I think there is a certain charm to develop a classic game in a classic engine :-)

However, it seems that there is not that much documentation available on creating SCUMM games, so I hope someone can answer a few questions:

- How does the engine determine the first room of the game (aka the "entry point")?
- Is it possible to do palette rotations from within the engine? (as most SCUMM games are in 256 colors, I assume it's possible)
- Is there a script-repository available with code examples of common tasks (some more complex animation techniques etc...) ?

Thanks,

Jeroen.
