Subject: [Sdcc-user] SDCC copiler error

I keep getting an error whenever I compile a the following piece of code

// In a header file I have the declaration of a function void sendData(
uint8 *payLoad, hdrInfo_t headerCfg );

// In the application source file I have the following invocation
     sendData( payLoad, txCfg);

// Declaration of payLoad

uint8 payLoad[10];

The error details:
Error 78: incompatible types
from type 'struct __00010000'
to type 'struct __00010000 generic*'

I am at my wit's end please help
