I got the e-mail today about SDRE splitting up and it really bummed me out. It
is a shame that record companies/large corporations are motivated ONLY by money.
I realize that the main goal of a business is to be profitable, and they don't
"owe" the general public anything, but when it comes to genius, like that of
Sunny Day Real Estate's music, I think these companies should do whatever they
possibly can to support, promote, and propagate intellectual fortitude that is
so rarely found in music today. However, what comes easy never stays, so I wish
the band good luck as they separate to get around this obstacle, (hopefully) to
one day to reunite on the other side.
