Let's see. . .

Beatles. Slowdive. Eminem. Sunny Day Real Estate.
Juno. U2. Radiohead. Counting Crows. Cibo Mato.
Agent Ink. Masado. Mineral. Morrissey. Frank
Black. Pearl Jam. Nirvana. REM. The Slackharmonic.
Superchunk. Weezer. Notorious BIG. Roots. Bjork.
Hooverphonic. Doves. Antarctica. Jeremy Enigk.
Scout. Built to Spill. Hush Harbor. Dido. Madonna.
Sade. Luna. Ice Cube. Fugazi. Jawbreaker. Dave
Matthews. 764-HERO. Frank Sinatra. Mozart, et al.
Coltrane. Davis. Sarah McLachlan. Enya. Smiths.
Cure. Pink Floyd. Blind Melon. Belly. Afghan
Whigs. Twilight Singers. Brad. Esthero. Calexico.
Varnaline. Jennifer Daniels. Crystal Method. Juno
Reactor.

And so on.

I understand where a lot of these people are coming
from. It's normal for someone in their teens and
early twenties to attempt to find an identity--however
specific and exclusive that identity may be. When the
parts of the identity that, say, wears the
black-rimmed glasses as a badge--the part that only
seems to care about the overt representation of the
identity. . . when those parts carry over to
adulthood, there's where the problem arises.

Just a thought.
