And so on. I understand where a lot of these people are coming from. It's normal for someone in their teens and early twenties to attempt to find an identity--however specific and exclusive that identity may be. When the parts of the identity that, say, wears the black-rimmed glasses as a badge--the part that only seems to care about the overt representation of the identity. . . when those parts carry over to adulthood, there's where the problem arises.
