*Web Interface and/or Search Engineer* 

 

*Job description: *If you are a Web Interface and/or Search Engineer with 
experience, please read on!

 

*What we do:* We are dedicated to providing our clients with unique insight 
into local government. We do this by harvesting public records, indexing 
the content and delivering services like a searchable database as well as 
feeds to various data subscribers desire. 

 

*What You Will Do: *You’ll develop our web interface as well as develop 
features that enable us to grow our business nationwide.

 

*Experience you’ll need:*

   - Ruby on Rails: proficient in Ruby as a language with a strong 
   foundation in clean, sensible programming 
   - Elasticsearch: proficient in ElasticSearch and able to adapt quickly 
   to evolving roadmap 
   - Clojure: proficient with Clojure and able to continue iterative 
   development 
   - Experience and capabilities with cloud platforms including Heroku and 
   AWS/S3 
   - Experience with open source project development, GitHub management and 
   versioning tools 
   - Excellent overall communication skills and technical writing skills 
   for generating documentation 

 

*Strong Pluses:*

   - Familiarity with NoSQL technologies like MongoDB 
   - Familiarity and experience with adopting NLP, semantic and content 
   automation technologies 

 

Experience is beneficial, but if you can demonstrate a keen background in 
the scene or can bring along a strong portfolio of homegrown projects for 
review then we're happy to consider you. Qualifications are secondary to 
skill, attitude and enthusiasm.
