A client application I'm modifying currently uses an AWS EC2 instance to host Solr search. Since they are grossly overpaying for the EC2 instance relative to their needs, I'd like to move them to a much cheaper Websolr Heroku add-on.
The one issue I can't find any documentation about is how to backup or dump the search index from one Solr server and restore it to a Websolr instance. Anyone here ever done that? I've reached out to support at Websolr as well. I'll post back with whatever they tell me.
