The investment fund part of the business has been around for a few years, but their focus on technology is really just getting started.
*Background:* My role, as CTO, is to lead product and engineering and help this business re-platform and launch a new product. My goal is to build a mature engineering team in San Diego to help this fintech business execute and grow. There are many reasons that I'm excited about this opportunity. The two co-founders have worked in private real estate investing for over 20 years and saw regulations changes and an opportunity to use technology to expand their business to internet investors. The regulations have continued to change and the next frontier for our business is opening up our platform to non-accredited investors. *The product:* While there is an existing product, our team will be replacing it entirely. We'll be modeling the product after several successful investment platforms, like PeerStreet, Fundrise and LendingClub.
