Re: (313) 'Detroit 1-8-7' Filmed In The City

2010-08-02 Thread Michael Elliot-Knight
According to IMDB.com the filming took place in both Atlanta, Georgia and
also Allen Park, MI

I think the rest of the show is supposed to be filmed in Detroit. They've
dropped the "documentary" style of the show though in the wake of the
tragic shooting death during the filming of "The First 48".

The pilot for the show was shot in Atlanta. The actual show is supposed
to be filmed in and around the 313.

I'd be more worried that the show portrays the Detroit police in a
more positive light than they deserve.

At any rate this show won't take place in Detroit, it will take place
in "Detroit." And the subtext will be, like all cop shows, that cops
are good and brown people are criminals.

A bit of a double edged sword - while it brings in money to the city and
supports local film and television industry it really doesn't do much for
the image of the city and the positive things that are going on there.

I'd love to hear him say that in a bar on 8-mile, what a prick.
