Re: [313] whats on now

2002-04-27 Thread Cyclone Wehner
Funny, that wasn't even chosen as a single from Angie's album but it has
blown up. There is a bootleg house mix that has charted on buzz charts in
the UK. I think I heard Frankie Knuckles play it (unless there is another
house mix) a month or two ago.

If you like that track check out this newish Sharissa album No Half Steppin'
on Motown - she's a little derivative of Mary J/Faith Evans/Lauryn Hill/Toni
Braxton stylistically on various songs but it's a grower. But there's a
KILLER track, Do We Really, which could go down well in a downtempo set and
could also be remixed into a house jam - like that Sunshine Anderson song
Heard It All Before or Wish It uses a familiar ol' skool sample but very
well.

Is there anything he's ever done that's gotten tiresome? Is he not the most
reliable house (and beyond) producer on earth? Perhaps the Ananda stuff is a
bit poppy, but if it ain't the best poppy material I've heard, I don't know
what is...

Don't get it for the remixes, because they're bland.

However...

There's also a Spen+Karizma dub of 'Brotha' on there that's definitely

It's from "Techno City" by Cybotron!

I'm listening to a track I made myself, sadly enough (lots more work needed,
I think). Next on the playlist is one of the UR remixes of Kraftwerk's Expo
2002, and then a bunch of tracks on Naked...
