Dear Minar,

if she fits our eligibility criteria.
Please write to me separately and I will try to get this done.

Hello Minar and Vaibhav,
Minar, I can't commend you and what you are doing enough, having read what
you wrote of your circumstances, thank you for being an awesome human 😄,
again like I said, not many would do this sort of thing.
No issues, feel free to write back to me whenever you are ready, and
please just in case I happen to not get back to you poke me once again, as
I have this propensity for missing people's messages and not getting back
to them as fast as I'd like to. 😂
And I totally understand, I do so often wish I could do a lot more than
what I can and or am able to do, but... maybe in the future, fingers
crossed.
As for samsung and why there have not been any recommendations for it, to
be perfectly honest with you, I usually don't recommend samsung to anyone
if I can help it, because for me and my friends they haven't lasted that
long, and usually start having issues within 6 months or 1 year of usage.
Plus for the specs they offer they tend to be overpriced and I suppose they
float by and manage on the basis of their brand value/ reputation like you
said.
But in this case, there's 1 point in it's favor, if someone here is able
to recommend a good/ decent samsung around 15k or so, that being ease of
use, at least last I tried it, and the 2 finger gestures to pick up and end
calls like we do on IOS, but I suppose android 11? bought that
functionality to all the others too? not quite sure.
Vaibhav, Thank you for the suggestions there, mate. Would you be able to
recommend a moto around the ballpark then? lets go with 15k. I am
struggling to come up with something decent, having been out of touch in
terms of android for a while. and aye, Redmi might be decent too, to get on
with from what I have heard.
Any input from anyone at all is welcome.

Hi Minar and John,

I started with using a Redmi phone and its MiUI changes were a big hurdle
in its accessibility back then.

I am using a Moto phone which runs on stock android and works superbly for
me. Normally its battery lasts 3 days if I am doing my normal stuff. Many
of Moto phones are available under 10k and I have used 2 of them in past 3
years.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

2022-02-20 Thread Minar Singh
Hello   john clayton,
I'm thankful to you for your reply. Actually i have not yet bought the
phone. I'm planning to buy once I receive my current month's salary.
Initially I thought of buying Samsung phone because of it's reputation
in terms of accessibility and usability for Visually Impaired. Battery
strength is good in Samsung phone. but It will cost between 13000 + to
15000. I didn't get any recommendation about any Samsung device
available below 1 from this list. It means there are no good
Samsung device available in this range. if you join me we both can
contribute and buy Samsung phone for her. I will contribute 1 some
little adjustment here and there I will manage. Actually my 50 %
salary goes to my parents because my father lost his job during
pandemic He was a driver. My brothers are busy with their own life.
They do not sholder parents responsibility but we can't leav behind
this Visually Impaired girl. I will let you know about final plan once
I get my current month's salary. Thank you so much for joining with
me. I'm also trying from my side if I can pay some down payment and
make rest EMI through any shop. if this will work for me then I will
be able to manage on my own. Whatever will be the plan, I will let you
know.

2022-02-20 Thread john clayton
Hello Minar,
I have heard that the accessibility of redmi phones is decent too, and
whilst I haven't used them extensively myself, a bunch of Visually impaired
people I do know have been using them and they are bound to be better than
micromax, although it's nothing but conjecture on my part, possibly because
of my personal bias based on my previous experiences with it in the past.
Also, If you haven't bought the device yet I'd like to contribute about 5k
or so towards the purchase of a mobile phone for the girl, this doesn't
mean that you would necessarily have to buy a redmi phone should you choose
to accept my offer, of course.
The decision would be entirely up to you, Wish I could do more but this is
what I can do atm.
Should you be okay with it, just write to me with your Gpay or something.
See if a phone is available with stock android around 15k, might be a
better option as no bloatware/ adds slowing the phone down.
and tablets are meh mostly in terms of specs and performance, they are
good only if the person is able to see.
Kind of you to help her like that, not many would.
best,

2022-02-19 Thread BHAVESH PATEL
Hi Minar,

the phone has 5000 Mah battery, since phone comes with stock android,
the accessibility is quite at grater level! comes with 4 Gb ram, 64 GB
storage. the phone is equipped with mediatec helio G85 processor, so
processor is good for screen reader user's point of view. The only con
you could possibally think of, is that phone comes with android 10,
but Micromax may give upgrades for newer android versions. but since
she is a basic user, having android 10/11 may not matter much.
HTH.

2022-02-19 Thread Minar Singh
Hi Bhavesh,
Thank you for your reply. How would you rate Micromax
battery? Please write in detail about it's accessibility and battery
is removable/non-removable. She had never used any assistive
technology enabled devicee. Will she able to manage attending
calls/messages and reading books with little bit training?

[AI] Please recommend me Any good Android phone/tablet

2022-02-19 Thread Minar Singh
Hello team.
I would like to help a Visually Impaired girl who stays in my village.
She had approached me demanding Android phone for her study. My budget
is below 1. Please recommend me which phone can buy for her. She
couldn't avail any assistive technology enabled device from UP
government. if i give her Angel player it will not be of much use for
her.
