[l10n-issues] [Issue 49581] Khmer installer for Windo ws does not install
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49581 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jul 30 03:27:08 -0700 2005 --- Jörg, It would be great it you could do this. To us the difference is being able to do fully automatic installation or having to install and then reconfigure. If the installation is not fully automatic, we cannot just send CDs to most parts of the country and have them install it. It requires also sending instructions, which will probably rearly reach the target groups, and therefore we will end up with lots of incorrect installations. The Cambodian Government plans to migrate to OOo 2.0 within the next year (migration has already started), and training for trainers on teaching OOo 2.0 for school and university teachers starts in 15 days (we have already developed training materials and training for trainer's materials in Khmer). Having this in 2.0 would greatly facilitate the migration process. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=52635 User regina changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |DUPLICATE --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jul 30 05:19:18 -0700 2005 --- Faking the extension will not change the file type. For example, you cannot open such a file in Microsoft Excel 97 Viewer and also the excel import filter of OOo will fail. You can set the extension to what you want, the file type will remain text. To be an excel-file it needs a specific header and coding in a specific way. The file type detection of OOo is designed not to use the extension but the real file type. So it works as designed and therefore is no defect. You can force OOo to open it in Calc, when you select the correct filter in the file open dialog. But be aware the correct filter is not Excel but Text csv. If you don't like this behavior (as other people who use SAP), you have to write an enhancement. There are already two enhancements which concern with this problem, issue 8967 and issue 23078. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 23078 *** - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=47836 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jul 30 06:27:43 -0700 2005 --- Ok, concerning i386 IBM J2re is not known because libjvm.so (and one or two other) are not found. Simply. To make it work, don't forget to give correct JAVA_HOME and add $JAVA_HOME/IBMJava2-JRE/bin in the PATH... $PATH does not need to be changed when using patch from issue 52613 (attachment #3). Next task i see is to patch $SRC/configure to recognize the IBM JRE automatically, so you don't have so set $JAVA_HOME =/path/to/ibm_jre before configuring. For this i should come up with a patch tomorrow evening. When having applied both of the patches (plus otherjre-patch, attachment #2 of this issue), building with IBM JRE on i386 should be ready to go completely automated. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. See the complete macro below. If I create an external variable that holds a reference to the document definition, however, then the form stays open. I discussed this with Frank Schönheit on the dba development mailing list, and he had two comments: 1. He agrees that I should not have to hold a reference to the form definition so that the form stays open. (This is the bug reported for this issue). 2. It seems silly that I need to provide an active connection. This active connections may become a resource leak because it is not closed (this is speculative of course). I've deployed OO 2.0 betas for about 50 users, replacing MS Office 97 as part of a rollout of new hardware. I'd have preferred to wait for the final version, but timing was forced on me by external factors, and it was either deploy or buy MS Office XP. Mail merge is by far the largest problem area that's come up. Suppressing blank lines is effectively not possible for normal users, the only work around we have is to create templates with hidden paragraphs set, and tell users that they have to name their data sources appropriately to use the templates, which is not an acceptable solution. Most of them are using old copies of MS Office 97 on machines we haven't retired yet for mail merges. Please, please fix this bug before shipping 2.0. I'd expect my organisation to be representative of the average office, and if this doesn't get sorted, we will have to consider whether or not it's viable to continue with OO. If we don't, I suspect it'll be a long time before we try again. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I simply opened a New Document and clicked the bullets button typed the text and hit Save. I moved my StarSymbol font out of my FONTS directory and rebooted. Loaded OOo and the bullets weren't displayed, just an placeholder rectangle like the others. I immediately copied the font back, switched back to OOo and it displayed as it should. Didn't change anything with OOo just the font! To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=19105 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jul 30 22:25:55 -0700 2005 --- As you see my screenshots above, I have: OPENS__.TTF 2004/12/13 on Windows 98 SE (old), and OPENS__.TTF 2005/06/16 on Windows Me (new). On Windows Me I replaced the new one with the old one. Then I reboot the system and open the testing document with the 1.1.5 and the 1.9.115. Doesn't work. Still shows squares instead of Bullets. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
