Previous updates to Field descriptions in the design view vanish when one updates the next field. Some can be preserved by saving the table immediately while cursor is in the field being updated and then saving the database. Similar to the toggle technique described by r4zoli on the forum. But even after all that, I opened the table after having closed the db and ALL of the comments had disappeared. For now I will take screen shots to preserve my data dictionary descriptions and re-enter the lost comments later. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. My results: If I created new table with design mode everything OK, after close file and restart of OOo, too. If table created with table wizard, and select in final step modify form: lastly edited description will be saved all other lost (independently from field type changing). If I edit earlier wizard created table, very unstable behavior, I add one description sometimes save, other times change not saved I found no pattern on it (Tried on three file, on newly created in OOo 3.1 and others created with 2.x versions, but lastly saved in 3.1), but all description lost when closed file and OOo and reopened back. Also tried under 2.4.1/XP with no problem. Currently I can't test 3.0.0 under XP, but will try under Linux later. Just to be sure though - your problem is with a standard (embedded database) Base file or with a file using some other database type? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
