OK. I create a new document. The language of the Default style is Russian. I
type in some text. I have to switch my keyboard layout to English twice: first,
to typ in an abbreviation in Latin letters (FOB) and next to type in a dollar
sign ($) with an amount in figures. In the both cases, OOo automatically
switches the text language to English(USA). Then I select the entire paragraph
and press Shift+Ctrl+Space to reset the text attributes to the Default style. I
expect the language of the entire paragraph to fall back to Russian (because
Russian is the language for the Default style), but it does not. The same is
when I select Clear formatting in the drop-down list of styles on the toolbar.
At the same time, if I apply any other ad hoc formatting, it does reset.

By the way, there is no such a problem with OOo 2.x. The language resets to the
language defined in a respective paragraph style with Shift+Ctrl+Space.

I'll attach a test case.

Language is an element of a style, thus, when resetting paragraph attributes
down to the style, the text language must reset too. But this does not happen,
and all languages applied (which happens automatically if the keyboard layout is
switched) remain. The issue is 100% reproducible, I've found it in OOo beta 3.0
on different platforms such as Windows XP / Windows 2000 / openSUSE Linux 10.3.

The issue seems to relate to the issue # 89646.
