My systems (2):
Desktop running WinXP/SP3
Laptop running Vista/SP1
OOo version OOO300m9 (Build:9358) in English on both. I had installed Release
Candidate 4 on both computers. When I tried to install the "finished" version
3.0.0 I received a message on the XP machine saying I already had an identical
install, and the installation stopped. On the Vista machine I was given the
options to modify, repair, or remove. I chose repair.
Problem:
On the Vista computer I could not find the Password option when I tried to save
a Calc file (in ods format). I copied the same file to the WinXP computer and
saved it with a password. Then I copied the file back to the Vista computer and
was asked for a password when I tried to open the file, but could not see the
password option when "saving as..." New OOo files on WinXP do offer the
password option when saving.
I rebooted the Vista computer, and ran the "repair" of OOo, but found no change
in regard to the password. The password option was also missing when I tried to
save Writer and Impress files using Vista. I do not recall this feature being
absent in OOo version 2.4.1.
