[amsat-bb] Triton-1 update #5 24 November 2013 22:15UTC - Triton-1 AX.25 beacon decoding information
Hi all, We have put an AX.25 mode beacon content decoding document on the Triton-1 amateur radio information page. This document contains the conversions from raw nominal mode beacon telemetry to engineering values. See http://www.isispace.nl/HAM/ Best regards on behalf of the team, Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? [amsat-bb] Triton-1 update #4 23 November 2013 08:30UTC - new Triton1 TLE available
Hi all, New TLE's for the DNEPR launch have been issued, we believe that Triton-1 is object M. 2013-066M 1 39427U 13066M 13326.98436826 -.2391 0-0 -39688-3 0 10 2 39427 97.7901 39.5474 0120424 185.3601 174.6374 14.64539763 201 Meanwhile, Triton-1 is still in nominal mode, transmitting AX.25 BPSK on 145.822MHz. Reception reports, especially in case the satellite is in safe mode (transmitting the safe mode CW beacon) are welcome! 73 on behalf of the team, Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Triton-1 update #2 21 November 2013 09:30UTC - Triton1 HEARD and healthy!
Hi all, Signals from Triton-1 have been heard during the first pass over The Netherlands at 08:46UTC! :) The satellite is in safe mode, as expected, transmitting its safe mode CW beacon. All safe mode telemetry looks nominal at this stage. Signals from both radios have been heard, the downlink frequencies are a couple of kHz above their nominal frequencies due to radio temperature which is slightly low. Reception reports are welcome, please see http://www.isispace.nl/HAM/ for information on how to submit reports. We will keep you posted! [amsat-bb] Triton-1 update #3 21 November 2013 14:00UTC - Triton1 now in nominal idle mode
Hi all, We have commanded Triton-1 to go to nominal mode, with the radio transmitting idle flags in between beacon transmissions. So the downlink will be on continuously unless it switches to safe mode. Current downlink radio: TRXUV-0 Current downlink frequency: 145.822MHz AX.25 BPSK (so slightly off the nominal frequency of 145.815MHz) Best 73 on behalf of the team, Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Triton-1 update #1 19 November 2013 15:00UTC
Hi all, As you may be aware, on the 21st of November, 07:10UTC a DNEPR launch vehicle will lift off from Yasny Launch Base, Russia, carrying a number of payloads. One of them is the Triton-1 satellite, a 3-unit cubesat developed by ISIS - Innovative Solutions In Space from Delft, The Netherlands. Note that the Triton-2 satellite is not on this launch, its launch date is to be determined at this stage. Triton-2 will be similar to Triton-1, the main difference being that it will also carry an S-band downlink and associated mode US transponder. Triton-1 is a satellite which will serve as a test bed for an experimental receiver, designed to receive Automatic Identification System (AIS) messages from ships. During the first three months after launch, the plan is to characterize the AIS receiver in orbit. After approximately three months of experimenting, we intend to activate a single channel FM to DSB mode UV transponder (similar to AO-16's transponder). The exact transponder uplink frequency in the 435-438MHz band will be announced at that time as well. We have created an amateur radio information page which contains all information related to its downlink signals at: http://www.isispace.nl/HAM/ We intend to publish regular status updates on the AMSAT-BB as well as on the aforementioned page. Hi Larry, the Delfi-n3Xt (follow up satellite which is currently being built) team have put it on their page at: http://www.delfispace.nl/index.php?option=com_contentview=categorylayout=blogid=32Itemid=73 there is a download link somewhere approx. 1/3 into the page. happy decoding! [amsat-bb] Re: Cubesat launch Sept. 23rd
Hi Bruce, yes, PSLV-C14 will carry ISIlaunch01, a cluster launch of four 1U CubeSats. For all frequency info, please refer to http://www.isispace.nl/index.php?option=com_contenttask=viewid=80Itemid=84 and the websites of the satellite teams. Integration progress can be followed on: http://blog.isilaunch.com/ And of course, all help is appreciated in early operations tracking and assigning the correct TLE's to the different objects as soon as possible! We will try to keep everyone posted, more info will be posted as it becomes available. 73 on behalf of the ISIlaunch team, Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: Cubesat launch Sept. 23rd
Hi Domenico, Delfi-C3 has been in amateur transponder mode from the end of July 2008 till mid-October 2008, after which we sadly have had to conclude that the transponder had failed. We do not know the exact failure cause, but it is a failure in the receive section of the transponder. Sad but true, it is the only component to have failed on the satellite so far... :( everything else is running ok apart from some minor quirks like regular downlink drop outs which are related to the databus and are not critical. I have only been able to make a handful QSO's on the transponder myself, would have loved to make many more! After this sad conclusion, we have decided to switch the satellite back to science mode, a mode in which it transmits payload data on 145.870 1200Bd AX.25 BPSK to at least give it a useful life which will hopefully last for many more years to come! 73, Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ On Tue, Sep 15, 2009 at 7:46 PM, i8cvs domenico.i8...@tin.it wrote: Hi Wouter, PE4WJ What about DELFI - C3 for the promised amateur use ? 73 de i8CVS Domenico - Original Message - From: Wouter Jan Ubbels w.j.ubb...@isispace.nl To: amsat...@amsat. [amsat-bb] Re: DO-64 software support for PSK-1(T) hardware?
Hi Greg, actually, when we developed RASCAL, we had PSK-1 (or another KISS TNC that could do PSK) support in mind. However, PSK TNC's such as the PSK-1 have become a scarce item:) Furthermore, COM port access in JAVA can be tricky sometimes, especially when you want to preserve the cross platform capability. In the meantime, I had started work on a 1200bd BPSK soundcard demod in JAVA (contrary to the PSK-1, PC's with soundcards are abundant in today's ham shacks hi). The Warbler software was my first try at this. In the end we decided to integrate this demod with RASCAL and abandon the KISS TNC support in favour of the soundcard solution. So, unfortunately, KISS TNC support is not included in RASCAL. 73 on behalf of the DO-64 / Delfi-C3 team, Wouter Jan PE4WJ ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author.
