Rahman sir ,saying it with all due respect to him. It was composed by Mr.

I prefer the tamil soundtrack. (as a whole). Even though musically they are
both exactly similar, the tamil songs have a different feel to them.

Talking abt Mannipaaya specifically, I think its Rahman's rendition which
made all the difference. I heard the telugu version first. I liked it, but
was not really overwhelmed or anything. But later I heard the Tamil version
and Rahmans performance simply did it for me.

Will listen to both once again, and keep a ear out fr this humming

Suvi has been a part of the chorus for ARR for quite a few movies. Jodha
Akbar had lot of backing vocals which she was part of. She was not credited
but she was also in the chrous that sang oyasa ...mayasa...for the Blue
song.

Auto-tune is heavily criticized by music experts because with Auto Tune, anyone 
can "sing". To me I think it is ok to use Auto Tune to create a different 
sounding voice. I don't think Benny Dayal or Vijay Prakash need Auto Tune to 
sing in tune. It was used just create a different sound:)

  its very much autotuned... 
Actually all the songs are autotuned these days. Most of them use Antares' EVO 
Autotune, or Logic Audio preset Autotune. 
The idea is the amount of Autotune effect used. Omana penne used autotune in 
very high density, purposely giving it this way. recently other songs made with 
this effect are Fiqrana-Blue and Yaar Mila Tha-Blue.

i attented a workshop on logic here in kolkata kj singh being the host.He
showed us the rehna tu session.another interesting fact he said whenever he
dubs a vocals he marks it with different colours..the good part with green
not so good with orange and the bad takes as red.Saw tanvi s takes in that
session.Feels great.

A.R. Rahman visits Pedda Dargah

Oscar and Grammy Award winning composer A.R. Rahman, along with writer
Abbas Tyrewalla, singer Naresh Iyer, lyricist Raqeeb Alam and their
family members, visited Ameen Peer Dargah in Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh) on
Monday midnight and offered prayers.

Their visit coincided with the Hazrath Khwaja Syed Sha Ameenullah
Hussaini Urs, which commenced late on Monday night. Rahman's wife
Saira Banu, mother Mallika, sister Fathima and brother-in-law Talat
accompanied the composer. They stayed in the Pedda Dargah from midnight
to about 4.45 a.m. The film personalities reached the Dargah, popularly
known as "Pedda Dargah" around midnight.

The celebrities presented a flower chaddar on Ameenullah Malik's
tomb and offered prayers. They took the blessings of Dargah's 11th
Sajjad-e-Nasheen Hazrath Khwaja Syed Sha Arifullah Mohammed Mohammed-ul
Huissaini Quadri. The Sajjad-e-Nasheen took them round the Dargah and
explained about its religious and historical background.

If I take the question as "SINGERS" who are National award winners, have worked 
now or in the past with ARR, then There are many singers I suppose, a quick 
check list could be Sadhana Sargam, Udit Narayan, SPB, Sukhvinder ( I hope he 
is in it ) etc etc ?

In Pune, we have our own yahoo group member ANMOL BHAVE who is not a 
(professional) singer, but he is a two time National Award winner for best 
sound engineering. He performed with ARR on stage during the Jai HO PUNE 
concert. 

I know Anmol may not qualify for the question asked but still ...

Hope all are doing great! Can't wait for A.R.Rahman Sir's next release! I
finally got Couple's Retreat and VTV and absolutely love the songs!

I just wanted to find out if Rahman sir composed the theme for the malayalam
channel Kairali T.V.. I just heard it and was absolutely blown away at the
arrangements of the instruments and couldn't imagine anyone else to compose

[arr] AR in London? Can someone confirm?

I tried looking up the Southbank Centre website for news of the 
supposed Alchemy Festival AR is supposed to be performing in but had no luck 
finding it. Can anyone close to him (Gopal/Vijay)  confirm this news please? If 
tickets are out on Friday as mentioned in a previous e-mail in the group, I 
wouldn't want to miss it for anything.
