Re: Heres the confusion: [arr] Is there Raavanan DTS CD?

2010-05-11 Thread Raghu B P
I have the Boy's DTS audio cd, and I can confirm that, I get to hear 5
different channels from each speaker. You can play this disc only if you
have DTS decoder player. I cannot play this cd in ordinary cd players that
do not have DTS decoder.

I could upload this for you some where, pm me. First let me check where the
CD is :)

Love ARR
Raghu

Heres the confusion: [arr] Is there Raavanan DTS CD?

2010-05-11 Thread wiredbeats
I know where the confusion is, there is a defunct format called DTS music disc

http://www.dts.com/Pro_Audio_Products/Products_by_Media/DTS_Music_Disc_CD/Overview.aspx

But you know what, this format is actually worser than super audio CD. I just
called an expert friend and asked over international line and he says DTS music
CD was a joke, it never really boosted anything major and the fact that they
comply to the 'red book' standard( Red book standard is THE standard for audio
CD reproduction) does not mean anything.

The codec is a failure because most players could not recognize the track
separators and either said invalid disc or read the whole thing as one big huge
track. As in the CD contained just one song, even if it had 5 or 7 tracks..

Those who have Boys or Godfather DTS disc as you claim, please do this test

If you are playing in 5.1 surround sound system, please disconnect the center
channel and check what you get.

I downloaded it. I think it's fake. The 3rd channel was d same as 1st n 2nd.
5th n 6th channel sounds like voice removed audio. Even if it is an original
version, it's poorly mixed. It is in DVD by the way...
