Motivational songs encourage and support the society which is depressed and
and subdued. It installs confidence to the minds which need them. For minds,
which think that life has ended, it induces a new lease of life. Human life
is surrounded by sorrows. It has been destined to face failures. It is these
songs, which give encoueragement and a new set of meaning to people who are
depressed, and who need these sort of support. It is the singer, the music,
the lyricist who play a vital role in encouraging people to come out of
their slumber and lead a normal, peaceful life with support, motivation and
happiness.
In Life, when a hero, who is in utter despair and depression, and who aims
to rise back to status which he has lost works for the same in a very hard
manner. Such a type of a situation required an echoing song in the film. I
got very much inspired by getting the feel of the situation. In this
country, about 70% portion of the people face such situations. Why ?. say
even about 80% of the people are undergoing the same phase. 70% of the
Tamilians who have been successful belong to the previous generation, and
have been so, because of their previous generations. I was happy to write a
song, which would try to remove the sorrow in their minds, and make them
motivational. A.R. Rahman asked me, what type of song are you going to
write?.
I told him to give the tune, for which he said, Why don't you write it?.
I wrote it in the style of Thirupughzai. He accepted it, and changed it a
little bit and gave this wonderful song,
Vetri Kodu Katttu.
I have included a lyric in the song, which I tell myself, right from my
childhood days. I studied Western philosophy , at the age of 14, and it said
thus, The stone which appears as a boulder in the path of the weak /
depressed, appears like a stepping stone in the steps of the Winner /
Motivated. These lyrics were imprinted in my mind, at the age of 14.
Whosover, requests me for an autograph, I always write,
Tadaikallai Padaikallu aaku
( Turn the stone which appears as an hindrance into a stepping stone to
success)
The lyrics which were imprinted in my mind and heart for so many days, got
transformed into reality, into a song , and that too for Rajnikanth's movie
and song , gave me immense joy and excitement. Some lyrics don't become big
because of the writer alone. It becomes big , because of the filming of the
lyrics. Not only because of filming, but because of the one who directs it.
Not only does direction add value, but it gets value, when an icon, who is
loved by the society, sings it on the screen. Rajnikanth, by lip syncing
this song, has added a lot of value to this song.
