Re: ARS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64?

2009-10-14 Thread Jeff Maher
I have ARS 7.5 and ITSM 7.5 running on Server 2008 (x64), but only in a
development capacity. Since it is just a test box, I have everything on it
including database and web server. So far, runs fine, if not a bit slowly (as
expected), there were no issues on the installs (using the latest patched
installers though, not the base). In fact, it was the most trouble free Remedy
install I can remember in a while. I haven't tried the some of the other apps
you mentioned though (RKM, SLM, etc).

So, who has tried installing any of the ARS or ITSM 7.5 components on Windows
Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (x64)? I am debating putting everything on R2 (SQL,
ARS, mid-tier, RKM, ITSM, SLM, whatever) since I am installing new hardware to
host it all.

Re: stripping HTML from email

2008-10-31 Thread Jeff Maher
We took that approach using a free Windows utility called HTB and a run
process. There appears to be Linux and Solaris versions of it also.

run process action?

It might provide better looking plain text-- for instance br would be
converted to a carriage return, etc?

In the Filter Guide have a filter use the replace function:

REPLACE($FIELD_1$, $HTML_Tag_Column$, )

Where $Field_1$ is the field that holds the email message, and
$HTML_Tag_Column$ is the column in the table field.

We are looking for a good way to strip HTML code from emails that we make
tickets out of. If I remove anything between a and a we can catch the
wrong thing if folks use a or in their text. Ideas?

Re: Group corruption problem after ARS7.1 patch2 SLM installation

2008-05-12 Thread Jeff Maher

Is there anything in arerror.log when the server starts up?

We had an issue with SLM where one of the patches added a 'French' view to
SLM:PenaltyRewards, and that caused problems until the view was deleted,
including the error you are seeing when generating the application list on
the home page.

Subject: Group corruption problem after ARS7.1 patch2 SLM installation

** Dear All,

Config:
OS - Solaris10
DB - Oracle 10gR2
ARS 7.1 patch002
ServiceDesk 7.0.02

I am facing problems with Administartor and Sub Administrator Remedy
groups. Whenever I login with Demo or appadmin I am receiving error:

Error generating application list field content. (ARERR 1900)

The system is basically unable to generate an application list for this
user.

If Administrator group permission is removed for Demo then not receiving
any error, but I dont see any links on homepage either. The same is
happening with appadmin user. I have to explicitly find open the required
app config forms

If I create a new fixed user and give Administrator or Sub Administrator
group permissions to it then on login I am getting same error. I suppose
these groups have got corrupted!!!

The last change done on the system was installation of ARS 7.1 patch 002 and
then SLM 7.0.03.

Appreciate any help as I am facing problems with the superuser.

Regards,
Prashant
