Re: ENGAGE / ENRAGE

2014-07-28 Thread Sanford, Claire
My plan was to come on Sunday and leave on Saturday. I planned on attending
the certification sessions. They are not even worth it!

Dan, how can we give them the benefit of the doubt? They have had since 2009
to watch and learn how to do it from the Masters!! People that managed to hold
down a full time job and do the conference! They even appear to have hired a
company to do all the heavy lifting for them! I know you probably have to be
supportive, the rest of us don’t. It is extremely disappointing. I talked
this up to a co-worker who was also going to ask to attend this year. There is
one CMDB session (maybe 2?). How can he justify the expense!?

I was looking forward to this because it was sort of like “going home again”.
The RUG that was held there before was so full of great memories and learning
that I really wanted it to be good!

Then again that conference had you, Rick Cook, Warren Baltimore, Pat Zandi,
Kim Moody, Phil Bautista and a host of other really awesome people to learn
from! The conversations were both entertaining and very educational!

Remember the ARSLIST party in the Sushi Restaurant! Very well attended and
lots of fun! “Look for the bright pink sign that says ARSLIST” The midnight
raid of the vending machines, the trip 10 miles away to purchase beverages. I
am starting to feel old!

They may be busy but I look at the sessions and still struggle to see any
technical depth for the BMC Remedy area. It might be there but with the naming
of sessions I can’t tell.

That being said, and of course I am biased, let’s give them the benefit of the
doubt. After all, BMC hasn’t done a North American conference since 2007, so
they are probably working hard to get it right.
Everyone gave us the benefit of the doubt in 2009, or at least a couple of
hundred of you did ☺

As for Evening sessions, Evening with Engineering has been on their schedule
since day one, unique and important and worth attending the conference just for
it!
For additional interesting networking, stay tuned, something will be worked out
…..

How many are arriving Sunday (or before) or leaving after Thursday?

I am giving up Canadian Thanksgiving Monday to be there, I need it to be
worthwhile!

Cheers … Dan

I think they are busy planning the conference.

Not if you do it from a hotel room though? I'll pitch in for a suite. We can
set up a google hang out and a live tweet session.

Could have been setup like a "mini community onsite" using Matt for this...

Maybe we could squat the booth location for this when it's not attended? If
it's like wwrug, it's just opened for lunch / not a long time, we could use the
place to do some small groups about a theme or something?

So, a mix between the "bird & the feathers", "genius bar", "community" and
whatever?

We could even stream it live on the net so the others could see it (that could
be a problem with BMC rules though).

The evening is still there, Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM:

But that's weird... Since breakouts continue from 6 to 9 PM on tuesday... So or
you go stalk the Engineers (and potentially miss 2 breakouts), or you attend
the breakouts (and miss the candy)?
