Re: how to insert animated images in remedy - How It works - REPOSTED solution
With a view field you don't need a web server at all. If your animated gif is in an attachment field you can use a standard Remedy set fields action to set the View field equal to the Attachment field. If you want to display some special HTML text in a view field you can build the HTML in a character field and then just set the view field equal to that character field. Chris, I am not sure about the version restrictions for 7.5 but we are running an instance of 7.1 and 6.3 on the same server and pointing them to 2 different database instances so I know for these versions it is possible but I would check the paperwork on 7.5 Scott Illari 908-601-8948 <http://www.linkedin.com/in/scottillari> http://www.linkedin.com/in/scottillari From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Pruitt, Christopher J Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 1:49 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: how to insert animated images in remedy - How It works ** Hey fellow Listers, Is it possible to install AR System 7.1 or 7.5 on two virtual instances on the same server pointing to two different databases on the same server? Re: how to insert animated images in remedy
Not quite the same, but... On ARS 7.1, ITSM 7.0.3, I've added an animated gif to my people profile, and it displays fine in the user tool. The file size had to be small, but that's a limitation of the attachment field, not the view field. Granted, its not a button, but view fields will display animated gifs. This might be a silly question, but have you tried saving the form anyway (with the image as a view field) and viewing it in the user tool (or mid-tier)?
