[aur-general] [Orphan Request] carddavmate
This package [1] has been updated almost three years ago. I would like to adopt it. Could someone orphan it? Thanks! Stefan [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/carddavmate

[aur-general] Requesting ownership for package nicovideo-dl
AUR package nicovideo-dl exposes bug in python, and thus won't work without patch. I've tried to contact the maintainer by e-mail (about half a year ago) and comment for orphaning the package, but haven't got reply so far. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/nicovideo-dl I accidentally posted this to aur-dev before, that can be ignored.
[aur-general] Out of date packages
Hi, I am the user luolimao in the AUR. To all of those that use outdated packages that I maintain, sorry. I haven't had access to a computer for the last few weeks, and I won't have my Arch Linux setup back until next week (due to a broken hard drive). If there are any packages that need to be updated urgently, shoot me an email and I'll gladly orphan it. Thanks, Limao Luo (luolimao)
[aur-general] Perl 5.20 Released to the Wild
Sometime this morning, the Perl Development Folks released Perl 5.20. I expect that the CORE Perl package will follow suite very shortly. All Perl PKGBUILD owners should be prepared for this, all the PKGBUILDs will need to be checked and verified on AUR once the new very is made available. If anyone out there owns Perl PKGBUILDs that are troublesome, please email me @ jnbek1...@gmail.com to let me know and what problems you're having and I will happily have a look to either assist or adopt said PKGBUILDs. -- Thanks, John D Jones III UNIX Zealot; Perl Lover unixgeek1...@gmail.com jnbek1...@gmail.com http://zoelife4u.org/

[aur-general] AUR 3.0.0 released
Hello, I am pleased to announce that AUR 3.0.0 has just been released. The official AUR setup [1] has already been updated. Note that in order to build source packages for the AUR, you will now need to use a tool called mkaurball (instead of `makepkg --source`). It is included in the pkgbuild-introspection package [2]. For a comprehensive list of changes, please consult the Git log [3]. As usual, bugs should be reported to the AUR bug tracker [4]. [aur-general] Deletion request: python-errorhandler
I just adopted python2-errorhandler because it is an optdepends of a package that I maintain. python-errorhandler is a duplicate and upstream does not support Python 3 at this time. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-errorhandler -Aaron DeVore

How does the number of files in a package relate to its usefulness? It's there for convenience, as are many other packages. Take for example packages that change only one compile flag.
