got different Jose’s from different families confused. Mea Culpa.

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Need help with a date please
Jose, bottom right. Is the baptismal date 28 Mar 1887 and birth date 20 Mar
1887? I also have his obit 4 May 1890, 3 yrs. old.
It is curious because there is another Jose, my grandfather born 11 May 1883,
same parents and grandparents. (I have his birth record.) Why would they name
a son born after a still living son with the same name? I know many girls are
named Maria and then go by their second name but; I wasn’t aware that it
happened with sons as well.
