Re: [Ontbirds] Possible Swainson's Hawk, West of London off of Hwy. 401
Hi Garth I was wondering if you could get some more details from your son about the possible Swainson's hawk. My husband and I might have seen the same hawk on our way home from seeing the Vermilion Flycatcher. We saw a larger hawk with the same description in a tree along Furnival Road leading to the 401. I was wondering if he knew exactly where along the 401 he was. We think we might have seen the exact same hawk, but wanted cross check our info with his. [Ontbirds] Lark Sparrow Fort Erie, yes
Our little friend is still hanging around. Re found further down the road in a bush with a large group of house sparrows on the lawn of number 845. It seems to fly in hang around for a few minutes then flies off. When we watched it come in, it flew in from the river side of the road. It does stick amongst the house sparrows Thanks to john black and dan salibury for helping us find the bird Rebecca and Dave Flook ___ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization. Question: Has anyone been able to substantiate this sighting?? As this goose is an ABA Code 5. "Code 5: Accidental. Species that are recorded five or fewer times in the ABA Checklist Area, or fewer than three records in the past 30 years." Thank you R.
