Re: [Bug-gnubg] GNUbg 1.05.000 and dependencies for downstream maintainers
Michael Petch mpe...@gnubg.org writes: The new 1.05.000 version of GNUbg has an optional (but highly used feature) that requires a new dependency. We have used random.org as a source of input to GNUbg. This broke at the beginning of the year when that site went to HTTPS over HTTP. In order to support this feature going forward you need the libcurl dependency satisfied. On Debian it doesn't matter if it is GNUTLS or OpenSSL backend but you'll need libcurl3 rather than libcurl4 development packages installed. libcurl3 development packages no longer exist in Debian because we're trying to get rid of that library. What fails with libcurl4? Can I maybe help with porting this? I'm trying a build right now. -- Russ Allbery (ea...@eyrie.org) http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/ ___ Bug-gnubg mailing list Bug-gnubg@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnubg

I didn't spend much time on it, but as I recall I didn't see a curl-config present. I may be mistaken and I didn't really look it at that hard, and it may not have been as it seems. -- Michael Petch GNU Backgammon Maintainer / Developer OpenPGP FingerPrint=D81C 6A0D 987E 7DA5 3219 6715 466A 2ACE 5CAE 3304 ___ Bug-gnubg mailing list Bug-gnubg@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnubg

It ended up building fine with libcurl4-openssl-dev in Debian unstable, and I tested it with random.org and that wroked fine as well, so I went ahead and uploaded that.
