Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SIP Delay Vs Early Offer

The description is not entirely correct.

Delayed Offer: The UAC SDP is relayed on the ACK Message

 INVITE -

 ACK - With SDP

 Early Offer

 INVITE - With SDP
 100 Trying -
 200OK - With SDP
 ACK -

The SDP is moved from the ACK to the INVITE, This is why is Early Offer.

The 200OK should always contain SDP from the UAS. Only Exception might be
when the SDP is sent on a provisional 1XX Message, like a 180 Ringing or
 183 Session Progress.

In that case is refered to as Early Media instead of early offer.

So saying on delayed offer the SDP is on the 200OK, is incorrect since,
both scenarios have SDP on the 200OK, The difference is the variation
between the INVITE and the ACK.

But I make sure that when GUI is used it would not show NOT CONFIGURED.
Most of the times, this is the only time when I log in to the GUI.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUE CLI/GUI ?

2013-04-29 Thread Abel ...
Learn to use both of it. In the lab you are not force to use one or the
other but sometimes the CLI is so slow that make you lost time. At the end
if you practice a lot and know where to find the configuration for CLI you
would be able to make the full config in matter of minutes.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUE CLI/GUI ?

2013-04-29 Thread Martin Sloan
I've been wondering the same thing myself. I picked up Kevin Wallace's IE
Voice Alchemy (1examamonth.com - highly recommended for developing an exam
strategy) and point 6 of his '12 strategies' is to use the CUE CLI instead
of the GUI as a time saver. I use the CLI for most things in my work so
I'd prefer to go that route. I figure once I get familiar with the syntax
of the different config options, it would be faster. Anyone recommend
otherwise?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUE CLI/GUI ?

2013-04-29 Thread William Bell
Nic,

IMO this is akin to the question of whether one uses ccm-manager config to
provision MGCP or not. You can get to the end game along multiple paths.

For CUE, I primarily practiced using the GUI. That said, I did practice using
CLI as well. People generally say that using the CLI is faster. I agree that
when it comes to CME-CUE using the CLI is quicker. However, I don't really see
much of a difference when doing CUCM-CUE. I actually think the GUI is much
easier with CUCM-CUE (vs. CLI for the same integration).

I have heard people argue that they may block your access to the GUI and that
you may want to get comfy with the CLI. I'm cool with that and I did
familiarize myself with the CLI method but I focused most of my practice labs
on using the GUI method. There wasn't enough value (measured in terms of time)
in the CLI method for me to focus on it. But we all have to make our own call
on that one.

-Bill

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Network hold audio source

2013-04-29 Thread Suresh Bhandari
Sergey,

The codec used is g711. IP voice media streaming is set to default, that
is, using g711.

When I set no MRGL on the DP, there is the default MoH. But when I set DP
MRGL to Publisher MoH, and Network hold audio source of the CUCM Telephony
CCG to another MoH source (ringback2.wav from uccx server set as alternate
MoH/ringback), I hear nothing on the caller when the agent phone is ringing.

A simple script (provided by IPExpert for the task) with queue prompt, call
hold, 30 sec break for MoH, call unhold is used.

Any idea now?
