Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] voiceview express with CUE integrated with CME

2013-06-11 Thread Smith, Adam

Hey y'all

I'm having issues getting voiceview express working with CUE integrated with
CME. Once I get CUE integrated with CME, the authentication and services urls
are auto-added to telephony service, but when I press the services button on
the phone I get No services configured. I've checked the authentication
credentials under telephony service and CUE and everything looks good. CUE
works fine, but no services. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

PS - next take is Thursday ... !

Thanks,
Adam Smith

Singh,

It does add the 'spanning tree portfast' command on the HQ switch, but not on
the switch modules at the branch routers. You have to add that command
manually for the switch modules.

 hi Guys,

Is the command spanning tree portfast required under the switch
ports on a switch connected to the phone? Doesn't the switchport mode
voice vlan take care of this ?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Cisco: Provide a reasonable transition path from CCIE

2013-06-05 Thread Smith, Adam
All,

I just received confirmation from a friend at Cisco that they have decided to
grandfather in anyone with a CCIE Voice to CCIE Collab if you pass the CCIE
Collab Written Exam. Said this will be posted soon ...

Thank you to everyone that has not rolled over on this!

I'm very happy, because my next take is next Thursday.

Good luck, and good work to all!

Best regards,
Adam

Daniel,

First, let me touch on the most important point you have brought up:

Honestly, it's really great to see how everyone came together, spoke loudly,
and made a difference. Even if the decision isn't reversed, the past few days
really demonstrated how dedicated and passionate everyone is to their field
 and hard-earned certifications.

Absolutely outstanding! Everyone has done a great job of keeping this topic on
Cisco's radar. Keep it up!

Second, I am at the PBT in SJC. Rowan mentioned the CCIE but it was just an
acknowledgement that our message has been received. The right thing comment
was actually made by another person (name escapes me). Rowan may have echoed
the sentiment but no guarantees/promises were made. This isn't bad news. All
feedback we have received thus far has been a positive trend in the right
direction. Even if it has been incremental.

So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Cisco will want to close this
down as fast as possible. Whatever the answer is, we can all be satisfied that
we refused to roll over on this. Again, the volume of support within the
community is quite impressive. Don't back off the throttle now. Keep pushing,
stay on message, and (as always) be polite.

-Bill

 Folks:

I'm sure many of you are already aware of this news, but one of the heads of
Collaboration @ Cisco (I believe Rowan) has made a brief statement today
saying, we will do the right thing for everyone. There's also some rumors
floating around the Cisco Partner collaboration forums that a manager of the
Cisco UC Master program confirmed CCIE Voice will be grandfathered into the
 CCIE Collab track. I
