Postdoctoral Research Fellow Membrane Structural and Functional Biology – Caffrey Lab Trinity College Dublin, Ireland Post Summary Applications for the post of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Research Group are invited. The major theme within the Group is structure and function of membrane proteins by crystallographic means. A project is underway to solve the high-resolution structure of membrane proteins that bind, signal through and metabolize lipids. Several are implicated in diabetes, obesity, cancer and pain and in communicable and other non-communicable diseases. The goal of the project is to use the structural information to understand how these membrane proteins function and interact at a molecular level and ultimately to assist in the development of new and improved therapeutics. An exciting postdoctoral research position is available in the Group to work on this project.
