[Chevelle-list] Tac question??????

On my 69 Chevelle Tac there is of course a plug that has four
wires. Two I believe are black and the other two are colored I think Orange and
red. One of the black wires is not attached to any thing and the wire is
exposed. Does anyone have any idea where this wire may go? The only
think that I removed from the car was the stereo.

I should have added at one of the black wires goes from the
wiring harness to the tac. The one black wire that is not connected to
anything goes to the Tac to ?. Thanks again.

Craig. Black is usually the ground wire.

I thought that tachs had a separate lead that do not go through the fuse 
block.  That's the way it is on my 70.  It is a single tan wire that plugs 
directly into the distributor.
