Re: [Chevelle-list] double trouble 1966

2004-02-09 Thread Wayne

That's a good question.. The Question  I would
ask myself is.. Do I want a Hard Top or a Convertible
The 138 # would not be part of My equation.. If I
want a car to look like a SS .. SS badge ,hood, paint scheme ect. There all
available via the aftermarket dealers..
the HT or CONV  condition.. the amount of
$$$   I have for my car fund.. Conv can bring bigger   and
require more $ to finish. new top more body mounts , extra weather
stripping..extra interior panel... top pump and pistons ???...

How much $ do I have  and what is needed
per  car.. do an honest assessment.. write a list apples to apples
, that  should give you the facts to make you decision..

Eddie, Decide which one you want and give me the other one. I
will come and get it out of your way. Good restorable Chevelles are getting more
difficult to find. I would store one somewhere dry and build the other now. A
few years down the road go after number two. I currently have two chevelles, an
el camino, a Tempest conv and a GTO. One of the Chevelles and the GTO are future
projects. But I would have a hard time finding them again, so they are put away
for later. If you can swing that, do it.

I would keep the ragtop.  You see fewer Malibu
  convertables than hardtop SS cars.Tom

Depends on
your taste, condition and the amount of work you are willing to put into them. Both
cars are desirable.
