Re: [Chevelle-list] New Model Release Dates
Larry, Generally the new models were presented in Sept. When I was a kid in the late 50's early 60's it was a big deal to go down to the dealership and see the new models. My Dad was a Pontiac man and was like a kid in a candy store when the new models came out. He owned several Bonnevilles and Gran Prixs. He even bought my first car from his Pontiac salesman. A trade in 66 Malibu 283/PG. It lasted in it's original form until 1970 when it got new life with a 427 and 4sp. Them was the days. Re: Re: [Chevelle-list] New Model Release Dates
Sounds familiar. My father worked for the railroad and we use to go down to the railroad yard and watch the new cars roll by in the early 60's. A few years later they put side panels on the railroad cars so you couldn't see much but that was to protect the cars from vandals (or striking railroad workers) from throwing rocks, etc. and damaging the new cars. I think that is when I first became a Chevy fan although my dad always bought Pontiacs.
