If you are single homed there is no benefit running BGP but if your dual homed, BGP can allow you to utilize the best path along with the ability to dynamically announce your networks, influence incoming traffic and all kinds of fun stuff. Unless you have multiple egress points from your network to the Internet (IOW Load Balancing) there is really not a compelling reason to recieve full BGP routes, just have your ISP send you defaults via BGP, or even simpler set your default to your ISP facing interface.
