Additional usernames
How can i set up additional usernames and passwords for cisco 1700 using 12.1 IOS ??? try entering username xyz password xyz...drop the 7 off. by specifying the 7 it requires the password you type to be in encrypted format. Group, How do you configure a Cisco router to use usernames and passwords? We use strictly passwords. You can either use local usernames or some sort of authentication server like CiscoSecure. If you want to use local usernames just type 'login local' under the vty lines and create local usernames on the router. Regards, Aaron K.
