Can't you run a real X server and use chvt to switch between Qtopia
and X11?

i can't answer that question, but have you seen the hack to get x11
apps running on Qt? i haven't tried it, but i might be worth a go:

searching through the web I've read that Qtopia distribution does not support 
X11 applications, does it?
Then is there any other GPS application than the demo that comes installed?

[QtExtended] TangoGPS?

Hi all,

yesterday I flashed QtExtended 4.4.2 on my FreeRunner and I'm very happy until 
now because it seems quite fast and stable. I've installed tangogps, gpsdrive 
and navit with opkg, but I can't see these new applications anywhere. How can 
I run them?
