Re: latest and greatest, progress mail 5 (stable 2.6.28 usage)
so, you run the full fso-ms5.1 image using my qte binaries on them, and bluetooth works ok? Did you remove frameworkd and stuff? And does bluetooth work after unsuspend as well? hi, i used an image as suggested in your script: http://downloads.freesmartphone.org/fso-stable/milestone5.1/om-gta02/fso-console-image-om-gta02.jffs2 and kernel http://downloads.freesmartphone.org/fso-stable/milestone5.1/om-gta02/uImage-2.6.28-oe1+gitr34240a1c06ae36180dee695aa25bbae869b2aa26-r3-om-gta02.bin i booted (actually once only), usb-sshed in and tested bt with hcitool. all ok, so then i ran your script that did the install all automatically. bt works only before suspend. restarting /etc/init.d/bluetooth enables bt after suspend/wake just for the record: strange enough, my procedure before (when bt didn't work) was: download image as suggested in your script (om based at that time), kernel off your site, modules from om again. i had not tested bt before running your script. after installing qte, no bluetooth. cheers petr ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Hi, ok, nothing new then :-) The om-kernel is andy-tracking and has probably some issues. In the latest version, some fixes have been made that affect bluetooth: http://git.openmoko.org/?p=kernel.git;a=commit;h=918bf45f92b69c642960b78a7c70a04d5bccb6c3 So I'll try the latest andy-tracking again, but since it's not on openmoko anymore, I'll try the kernel from shr, that also includes that commit. latest and greatest, progress mail 5 (stable 2.6.28 usage)
Just in time for the holidays ... (install instructions and script updated on 2090410: see below) New progress/bugs: All Ok: - 20090401: 2.6.28 ok (even 2.6.29-rc2 ok) - 20090401: alarms (using atd from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/armv4t/base/, since no newer package exists), normal + when suspended - 20090401: wake up when receiving sms - 20090401: call + echo check - 20090401: missed call bug - 20090401: duplicate sms thing: solved - 20090401: mail ok - 20090401: wifi ok - 20090403: voice notes (see my mail/patch) ok - 20090404: usb cable handling: ok (mailed a patch to Filip, I hope he integrates all the 2.6.28 patches and commits them) - 20090404: bluetooth ok (need to downgrade to bluez3 and not use bluez4, install script updated accordingly) - 20090410: voicemail number is now saved across reboots (see http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/15) - 20090410: snooze function works correctly now for repetitive alarms (see http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/27) Problems (more like small nuisances now): - sms stay on SIM as well as on phone == All sms's are stored on the phone *and* on the SIM. I don't think that this is wanted behaviour (deleting an SMS only works on the SMS's stored on the phone). See http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/29 - if you set the time back to something in the past, the clock service crashes and you need to restart qtextended if you want to use the clock again - if you reboot, wlan is online and you need to put it offline (can cause battery issues) - second call incoming needs to be checked if working ok - bluetooth is not working totally ok, only after initial boot it works, not after suspend/resume. Seems to be kernel/bluez3 version combo issue ... - if you try to delete the Wireless Lan, the system crashes ... cool huh, a crashed phone? Install instructions: = download the script http://users.telenet.be/liedekef/openmoko_install.sh , read the comments at the top and then execute the script on your openmoko (after having flashed the device and made sure internet works). This can be ignored. But before suspend, you don't need to use the poweron script (in fact you probably shouldn't use it before suspend). Just go to the bluetooth settings and give it a go. It might be that the bluetooth reset way in the poweron script is in fact part of the problem ... I've changed the poweron script on my site to just call /etc/init.d/bluetooth start now.
