Re: [Cooker] fdio? Can somebody tell me where it can be found?

2000-10-27 Thread Thomas M. Trostel

I haven't seen any updates whatsoever using MandrakeUpdate. Do you know
when we'll start seeing some for 7.2RC1?

Thanks

MandrakeUpdate has this problem and such need to be recompile with
   rpm4.

  OK.

Unfortunately, MandrakeUpdate doesn't build with rpm4, because it use
the rpmlib. It needs to be patched to accept both version of the
   rpmlib.

~blech~ I guess this is the same with rpmdrake as well?

   Yes. For the same reasons.

Any idea of when this fixing might happen?

During the next week I think.

MandrakeUpdate really is the best way to
stay on top of Cooker changes.

thanks ;-)

Re: [Cooker] Urgent: recompiling sparc 64 - Looking for Erik in Europe

2000-09-15 Thread Thomas M. Trostel

Hey ... if you all have Linux working with a sparc

let me ask you how to get the darn thing to boot. I have a sparc 20 and
everything installs perfectly BUT I can't get "SILO" to load.

No I didn't start the partition on track 0.

Thanks

I realize that the the subject line is a bit weird, but I'm looking for
a
response from someone that I talked with earlier about a trip to Europe.

I believe his name is Erik, and I was discussing recompiling the sparc
port with him. He has a celeron and an alpha.
 That must be me ;-)

My LM 7.1 beta crashed on me last night and I no longer have his email
address (or anything else that was on that machine). I need a response
asap as I'll be unavailable for awhile starting next week.

Could he contact me at this email address ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) or at the
source for this message: ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ).

Hope to hear from him soon.
