Thanks for your solution. I have already done this, but I think it is a strange thing
to make the
root's desktop have no icons by default.

I have this problem too with the 9.1rc2, there are no icons on the desktop when I
login as
root. I think the severity of this bug should be set to major or critical, don't you
think ?

The problem with the kernel has been resolved (just a noapic option) but the
installation
program should set the noapic option automatically ( so it should be asigned to the
installation program team). The problem already exist in RC2 !
I reopen the bug, sorry if I am wrong, but I had no answer to my previous message ...

I have just tried the rc2, and the problem already exist !
By default, the installation program don't detect my mouse. I already have to
use the noapic option. Is it normal, or must I reopen the bug ?
If it is possible, I think it is very important that the installation program
detect automatically the mouse !!!

After the installation, I think the distrbution keep the noapic option that I
have give at the installation, because the mouse works great.

the element.

Yes, but I think I have found interesting things. When I plug the mouse, there
is an error message in /var/log/messages :

Feb 24 01:04:53 bouiaw kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:11.3-2, assigned address 3
Feb 24 01:04:58 bouiaw kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Feb 24 01:04:58 bouiaw kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=3
(error=-110)

Moreother, I have found on newsgroups that other people have the same problem
with MX series Logitech USB mouse.
