[Cooker] [Bug 3154] [kdebase] Experiencing random X lockups while using Konqueror (web only)
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3154 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-13 00:52 --- No occurence of the problem in 24h after setting the "RenderAccel" option to "off." Good enough for me - I'll close the bug now. Thanks for the tip! --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: I have been experiencing severe X lock-ups (i.e. needing to ssh from another computer and "killall -9 X" to continue) since about version 3.1-60mdk when using Konqueror as a web browser. The crashes are actually not that random. Rather they usually occur when: a) I'm trying to select text in a web page, especially when selecting a hyperlinked word along with normal text (very often) b) I'm moving the vertical scrollbar too quickly (not as often) It's gotten to the point where I hesitate to use Konq at all for web browsing. So far these lock-ups have only happened with Konqueror, and only when browsing the Web. No problem with using it as a file browser, or when browsing with Mozilla or Galeon. I'd give more details but I'm not certain where to look...

[Cooker] [Bug 2064] [wine] Wine won't create its own socket
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2064 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-23 20:31 --- I confirm the WineX behavior. Removing the directory ~/.transgaming/wineserver-[name of your workstation]/ solves the problem temporarily, but you have to do it before each use. I'm also having problems with Crossover Office and Plugin. Office works but Excel complains about memory problems, and I can no longer install Quicken, while the Crossover Plugins don't work anymore. It is not a kernel problem, since going back to an earlier kernel doesn't make the problem go away. I'm still trying to figure out where Cxoffice anc Cxplugin create their socket files, to see if deleting those helps... This is a very important problem since a lot of us are still dependent on Windows programs (and games! ;-) to avoid the shame of dual-booting! I have notified Codeweavers about it but haven't heard from them yet. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: When running wine, it won't create its own socket [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ tail -n 1 bin/kazaa $ARTSCMD wine ~/.wine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/KaZaA\ Lite/Kazaa.exe [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ kazaa wine: lstat /tmp/.wine-todd/server-301-17dbe8/socket : No such file or directory [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ vdir /tmp/.wine-todd/server-301-17dbe8/ total 0 -rw-r--r--1 todd todd0 Feb 20 13:55 lock srwxr-xr-x1 todd todd0 Oct 2 18:44 socket.sav [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ vdir /tmp/.wine-todd/ total 4 drwx--2 todd todd 4096 Feb 20 13:55 server-301-17dbe8 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ cp -a /tmp/.wine-todd/server-301-17dbe8/socket.sav /tmp/.wine-todd/server-301-17dbe8/socket [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ kazaa ArtsD is running The command will execute through artsdsp fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Unknown directory 15 ignored Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.4.500 err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for SHELL32.DLL.712 imported from C:\Windows\System\comdlg32.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef Works regularly. [Cooker] [Bug 1471] [kdebase] Clicking on Removable media produces "KDEInit could not launch 'kfmclient'" error message.
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1471 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-23 20:24 --- While a bugfix is made, there is a way to manually correct this bug. You have to copy the files kfmclient.desktop, kfmclient_dir.desktop, kfmclient_html.desktop and kfmclient_war.desktop from /usr/share/applnk/System/ to your ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk/ directory. This will fix the annoying dialog pop-up. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Clicking on Removable media produces "KDEInit could not launch 'kfmclient'" error message. Also Supermount not working however issuing "supermount -i enable" fixes problem of supermount on reboot. Error message continues but CD may be accessed via /mnt/cdrom in shell or normal window.
