This sort of bug was often fixed in 9.0 by changeing the line UI_FONT="AUTO" in /etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf to UI_FONT="ARIAL" Or the name of one of the other font's you have installed. OpenOffice.org-l10n-en-1.0.1-9mdk freetype2-2.1.3-10mdk That's the answer. -l10n-1.0.1 packages Requires: OOo 1.0.1 packages. Thusly, you clearly have a mix of 9.0 and 9.1. This is not supported. Please update or downgrade to a clean system. OOo is dependent on the freetype version it was built with.

As to other applications, the only one that comes to mind is Opera, my preferred browser. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: This is the version that shipped with 9.0 as updated by the install of RC2. Re: [Cooker] [Bug 3031] [OpenOffice.org] Menu text missing
Hi, As I said I can't tell what version because the text that provides such info is no longer available. It looks like the dates in ~HOME/.openoffice are the same as my original install which was 9.0. It worked just fine in 9.0. User installation should not changed, i.e. ~/.openoffice should not have moved. If the only change is the upgrade to 9.1 RC2 from 9.0, why is that a user bug? Ah, I thought you had a 9.0 system and installed 9.1 OOo package. Please see questions of previous comment. Bye, Gwenole.

Re: [Cooker] [Bug 3031] [OpenOffice.org] Menu text missing
All settings were "AUTO" in /etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf I got to change the following settings to get text back : UI_FONT="Arial" FONT_SCALING="12" Hmm, FONT_SCALING is expected to get a % value, and 12% is small. ;-) For the font, that won't fit if you don't have Arial, and will fall back to Luxi Sans or some other sans serif font.

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3031 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-09 16:50 --- Guillaume, Merci beaucoup mais ce ne march pas. (that's about the limit of my French.) This worked very well under 9.0. Because I use this machine for most of my work when at home, I now wish I had not loaded RC2.
