The previous version worked, but the mouse didn't work at all. If it helps, I use X with gpm (has always worked before). The pointer in question is a Logitech Trackman Wheel and it works with the standard X "mouse" driver and the "ImPS2" protocol for both gpm and X.

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2055 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-27 09:37 --- Bug still valid for me, with XFree86-4.3-5mdk. The wheel sometimes works and sometimes does not. A logout of my session and log back in makes it work. (likewise, a logout of my session and log back in may stop it from working). I have tried several window managers, and it happens equally with all of them. Just in case, I also have tried different X drivers (nvidia's own, and XFree's "nv"), and it happens with both. See my XFree config in a previous post in this bug. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I can't say when exactly this problem came up since the current version is the first that would work for me since about the new year. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2055 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-22 10:57 --- I have: XFree86-4.3-0.20030218.1mdk gpm-1.20.1-2mdk and I have the same problem: The wheel sometimes does not work, but other times it does at the first login. If it does not work, doing a logout and log back in my X session, then the wheel works. My config: Section "Pointer" Protocol "MouseManPlusPS/2" Device "/dev/psaux" ZAxisMapping 4 5 EndSection My mouse is a Logitech OEM M-S48 The wheel worked all the time with XFree86 prior 4.2.x and also with one of the first XFree86 4.2.99.x --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I can't say when exactly this problem came up since the current version is the first that would work for me since about the new year. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2055 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-22 04:43 --- Good idea posting the config. Here's mine: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "Device" "/dev/gpmdata" Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2" Option "Buttons""5" Option "Emulate3Buttons""No" Option "SendCoreEvents" "True" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection The sendcoreevents bit was part of an experiment to get the wheel working. It didn't work. Here's my /etc/sysconfig/mouse since I use gpm I guess it's relevant: MOUSETYPE="imps2 -3 -a 3 -d 20 -r 20 -Rimps2" XMOUSETYPE=IMPS/2 XEMU3=no WHEEL=yes FULLNAME="Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse PS/2" device=misc/psaux I know it looks funky, but it has worked for years with little tweaking. (The wheel worked too before the new year). Maybe this has to do with the latest patch to X. * Mon Feb 17 2003 Frederic Lepied <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 4.3-0.20030218.1mdk - added patch212 for PS/2 mouse and USB keyboard problem (bug #1347) - updated snapshot to 4.3 rc2 - updated patch204 --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I can't say when exactly this problem came up since the current version is the first that would work for me since about the new year.
