  However, PNG won't replace JPEG. For photographic images that can
  tolerate loss, JPEG usually produces smaller, more easily transferrable
  files.

But anyway it is not a priority ;-). PNG will do the work.

Can you ensure please that the pngs are as crushed as possible (this 
applies also to ads in the rcs and final)?  I have been doing installs 
with vgalo to avoid having to d/l them on network insts and load/render 
them on cdrom/hd insts.

my good mirrors have all dropped like flies ;(, each little pic takes 12 
mins :P

1. it's not meant to be photos (final won't have)
2. drakx doesn't have libjpeg handling to keep as small as possible
