Your call. )-: I see the same behaviour, except with KDE apps (since all of the KDE infrastructure has to start up, the speed is roughly even). In my case, I have a dual PIII 1 GHz with 1 GB of RAM, so memory and horsepower is not an issue here. This is one of the reasons that I've stuck with WindowMaker, the performance difference is actually noticeable. John
