Unless there is a reason to do so otherwise all packages are built with
the options in /usr/lib/rpm/ppc-mandrake-linux/macros file.

These options are useful for G4s... but are of course incompatabile for
the newer types...  Requires GCC 3.2 or newer:

-maltivec -mcpu=7450 -mabi=altivec -mpowerpc-gfxopt

RC1 isos are probably the easiest way to start.  After that urpmi will 
update your system to the latest.  If you want to make your own ISOs, use 
mkdcd_ppc.pl.  For instance my tree is on  /mnt/disk/export:

cd /mnt/disk/export/misc
./mkcd_ppc.pl /mnt/disk/export /mnt/disk

Hey guys -- 
I am a current gentoo ppc user ( ex developer ), and was interested in 
checking out ppc support for Mandrake. Is there a good place to start ? I have found 
the devel ( cooker ) branch   rc1 iso's. What is the best option ? Is there any easy 
way to make new iso's from the cooker ftp stuffs ?
